Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Alexandra Simonton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia then obtained her Masters in Health Administration from Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health. In 2017, Alex secured a competitive 2-year Administrative Fellowship with IU Health. Since then, she has held both strategic and operational positions within the organization, including serving as Director of Strategy for IU Health Foundation.

Alex is currently Director of Infant & Maternal Health and Hypertension. In this capacity, she is leading statewide strategic planning efforts for these two key areas and will oversee execution of strategic initiatives aimed at improving the health and health equity of IU Health patients, communities, and Indiana.
