BIOGRAPHY

Michelle Soucy serves as Executive Director of Development & Alumni Engagement for the Indiana University School of Nursing, where she leads comprehensive fundraising and alumni engagement strategy across multiple campuses. In this role, she drives philanthropic growth in support of student scholarships, faculty excellence, workforce development, and strategic initiatives aligned with the school’s long-term vision. Michelle also serves as associate faculty for the Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where she teaches courses in fundraising and philanthropic leadership. 

She is currently a doctoral candidate in the Professional Doctorate in Philanthropic Leadership (PhilD) program at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where her work focuses on advancing inclusive and effective governance practices in the nonprofit sector. 

Previously, Michelle served as Director of Development for the O’Neill School at IU Indianapolis and as Executive Director of the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation. She has held executive leadership roles with Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in Detroit and Lansing, Michigan, and Northwest Ohio, where she advanced mission-driven growth and community impact.

Michelle is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM). She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing – Nursing Advancement Professionals. 

She earned a Master of Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the O’Neill School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Toledo.
