Donald “Steve” Combs, PA, PhD, DFAAPA is our Director of Patient Care Services at Gennesaret Free Clinics. With a career grounded in deep commitment to patient care, Dr. Combs brings not only exceptional clinical experience, but also a demonstrated dedication to service and leadership. As a DFAAPA, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA),  he represents the few PAs recognized for outstanding professional contributions and community-focused care. 

Steve’s training and academic background, culminating in a PhD, reflect his passion for evidence-informed care and continual learning. That foundation gives him a unique blend of clinical insight, critical thinking, and compassion, all of which he brings to guiding patient care at Gennesaret. His leadership style centers on dignity, respect, and a sense of community, ensuring that every patient is seen as a person first, not just a chart or number.

In this new role, Steve will steer Gennesaret’s Patient Care Services with an emphasis on accessibility, empathy, and holistic well-being. His vision aligns perfectly with our mission: offering high-quality, compassionate care to those who need it most. We’re confident that under his direction, our clinic’s future will be brighter and more inclusive, while welcoming people with warmth, professionalism, and respect.
